The status of the etch- installer:

white gave us a short overview over the portation of the installer to etch:
According to him the installer is working and now there is only one stage of installation: The base system is installed from cd and then all other things are installed via chroot and after the system reboot everything is done and the system is ready for use.
At the moment there are four questions during the installation of debian-edu: 
1.) The language question
2.) The profile question
3.) Creating Partitions
4.) Root Password
but the absolute manual partition of the disk is too complicated, so we have to work on the installer in extremadura in order to make the third question obsolete.

Werner has an interesting proposal: Using the official debian-cd for debian-edu-installation (that means get in touch with the debian-boot people in order to rewrite the debian-installer.) But this is an aim for the future, not for the etch release.

Security Support for etch:

As everybody know we have a Security Support for Sarge but not yet for the etch-based release. White proposed to work together with the debian- security team, but that someone else have to have an eye on it, because he has no expieriences with the testing-security team. Then we could easily add the deb line in the sources.list

Planned Tasks for Extremadura:

White gave us a list of the critical tasks for extremadura:
1.) security infrastructure for sarge
2.) finish installer portation to etch
3.) autopartinioning fix 
4.) porting the cfengine run
5.) cleaning up debian-edu-install and debian-edu-config
6.) implementation of the barebone profile 
7.) Bugsquashing
8.) Transition of the bugzilla
Furthermore the french team wants to work on their moodle and cipux concept for Intranet. In detail this is a newspaper and a forum for the schools, an interface for the administration of squid and squidguard and finally an interface for modifying users with cipux. 
The french team wants  to upload this packages into debian before the freeze of the archive (18. October).

At last we spoke about some points of extremadura, e.g. a keysigning party
